Join the Women Lawyers’ Section for their annual blockbuster 3-in-1 seminar and be eligible to get your State Bar fingerprints done prior to the seminar!  You will receive a robust 1 hour in each of 3 mandatory MCLE topics: Bias, Ethics and Competence. These MCLE credits are particularly important to those of you with last names beginning A-G  since you are in the MCLE Reporting Group 1, with a deadline of Feb. 1, 2019.

This year's seminar will cover:

Ethics:  Alison Buchanan will give you important highlights of the new and revised CA Rules of Professional Conduct that will become effective Nov. 1, 2018.  Ms. Buchanan presents throughout the State on ethics and the disciplinary rules of conduct. She is generally recognized as an engaging, highly knowledgeable presenter on ethics. Ignorance of the rules is no defense to a State Bar disciplinary complaint!

Bias:  Discover how gender bias and other biases can impact your practice of law in ways that undermine your effectiveness as an advocate.  Beth Mora will provide her unique insight as someone who has represented victimized employees for nearly the entirety of her, being recognized since 2011 as a Northern California Super Lawyer for Plaintiff Employment Law.

Competence:  Mary Grace Guzman and Kathryn Diemer will lend their vast experience in discussing how lawyers can and must maintain their competence level, particular as the first five years of practice become a fading memory.
