"[On July 30, 2008,] President Bush [signed re-authorization of his] Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief[, which] includ[ed] an amendment [repealing] the ban on travel and immigration for HIV-positive non-citizens.

"But [despite this supposed repeal,] the United States travel ban still remains in effect, and will continue to be the law until the Department of Health and Human Services {HHS) ... modifies its regulations. Fifty-eight Members of Congress have sent a letter to the HHS, urging them to take action.

"Countries with [explicit] HIV travel bans [include] Armenia[,] Brunei[,] Colombia[,] Fiji[,] Iraq[,] Libya[,] Moldova[,] Russia[,] Saudi Arabia[,] South Korea [and] Sudan[.]"
