This seminar is presented by the BUSINESS LAW & LITIGATION SECTION together with the Barristers' Committee.

Pre-trial motions can significantly narrow the scope of a case, alter the balance of power between the parties or even result in final resolution of the matter. This MCLE focuses on the pre-trial stage of litigation in considering:

  • When is it appropriate to file a pre-trial motion?
  • What issues should be considered in making or opposing such filings?
  • What strategies do judges view as effective in preparing and arguing these motions?

This seminar will benefit young lawyers in helping them efficiently and effectively plan when to file these motions and more seasoned professionals with insider tips from highly respected plaintiff's and defense attorneys on how they can maximize and enhance their knowledge in this area.
