Come join a distinguished group of women lawyers, from small to large firms, in-house counsel, law school professors and women on the bench—in a frank and honest discussion about issues facing women attorneys in the 21st Century: work life balance, the realities of career progression for women lawyers, the consequences of opting out, rainmaking, glass-ceiling and unequal pay.
This year, there will be a focus group on Sponsorship/Mentoring, led by Ida Abbott, author of “Sponsoring Women: What Men Need to Know”, and another discussion group led by Lori E. Andrus, author of the article “Working Towards Pay Equity” published in Trial Magazine. Leadership will also be a topic, based upon Joan Williams’ latest book “What Works for Women At Work”, which Anne-Marie Slaughter describes as outlining the four patterns of behavior that create the primary obstacles to women’s advancement to leadership positions.
